2016 CrossFit Open 16.1 Workout Wisdom w/ John Welbourn

The 2016 CrossFit Open is upon us!

My how time flies … it feels like yesterday I was lying on the floor in agony after 15.5, but alas, here we go again.

We locked down some time with John Welbourn to gain some insight on how to dominate the first workout of the 2016 CrossFit Open.

John is a 10 year NFL vet and founder of CrossFit Football/Power Athlete. He’s worked with numerous CrossFit athletes including working with tonights competitor Chyna Cho.

John even competed at the 2008 CrossFit Games.

We locked down some time with John to discuss Open 16.1. In the video below, John shares his thoughts on the workout including initial thoughts and a killer workout strategy.

AMRAP 20

25′ overhead walking lunge, 95/65#

8 bar facing burpees

8 chest to bar pull ups
